“I was a little apprehensive and excited at the same time. I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing the photos Wendy and Tim posted on Facebook and
Instagram.
I had never traveled internationally before, so it was a little intimidating to go to airports or a country I'd never been to. However, it opened a whole new door for me to experience life in a way I'd never experienced before.
I found Wendy Klein's and Timothy Poulton's workshop to be well thought out and performed overall. The schedule for travel and photo locations was near perfect, and the room accommodations were more than adequate.
I have never laughed so much and had so much joy due to the camaraderie and entertaining conversation. It will last as a benchmark for quite a
while. A few of the things that I learned from them both were…
Number 1 - How to adjust the white balance in the camera.
Number 2 - How to use luminosity masks in Photoshop.
Number 3 - How to do long exposure photos.
They both gave us adequate warning and supervision when in a perilous photography location.
One location was at Diamond Beach in Iceland, where they told us not to stand in front of icebergs. The reason was this: the icebergs as giant as a car will move, and they can kill you as a wave moves them on the beach.
Another location was at the sea stacks, where the waves crashed on the beach, and a couple of times, we had to run out of the way. If we got caught in the waves, we would not only lose our cameras, but we may lose our lives as we were possibly going to be sucked out into an undertow into the freezing water.
Cliff edges and icy walkways were also concerns, but they were always there, willing to lend a helping hand and encourage.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. It was the best experience I've had, next to getting married and having kids.”
